A record 107 participants came out last Saturday, August 4th to support the Teton Valley non-profits by participating in the John Colter Runs, which included the inaugural running of the marathon. Runners came from 9 states.

The winners of each race received 'non-profit' bucks’ at the rate of $10/mile so the male and female winners of the marathon, Neil Gleichman, and Nina Helm, each received $260 to donate to the Teton Valley non-profit of their choice.

The half marathon winners, Zahan Billimoria and Katie Steinberg each received $130, 10k winners, Doug Stutz and Barb Lindquist, each received $60 and 5k winners, Melanie Ransmeier, each received $30.

In addition, the age group 1st, 2nd and 3rd received $20, $15, and $10 ‘non-profit bucks’ respectively, to donate. This format generated over two thousand dollars in contributions to the Teton Valley non-profits and is a start on making up the loss of funds which will occur when the Old Bill's contributions are cut off in 2008.
